Colours reminiscent of Alpine boulders and rocky outcrops set against laden clouds and rockfalls beneath the snow layer. Layered with warmer tones or bold brights like the brilliant orange underside of a Kea's wings, Alpine shades are as versatile as the unique plants and animals that have adapted to living in these harsh areas of New Zealand.

From the heights of the mighty Kauri and Tōtara down to the undergrowth mosaic of ferns and mosses, our nations isolation has lead to an evolution of native vegetation that evokes a primeval scene. The dense wilderness of the native bush and its accompanying sounds and calm, represents a sanctuary to escape to. The deep browns and greens seen in the Flora tones are a reflection of tall woody trunks and graceful arching fronds of tree ferns, harakeke flax pods, and the intricate beauty of an unfurling koru, representing new beginnings.
